BMW 328i Reliability. Overall, the N20 powered 328i is a pretty reliable engine. Earlier models suffered issues with timing chains, which were re-designed and fixed in later models. Otherwise, expect the common BMW oil leaks like valve cover gaskets and oil filter housing gaskets.
