Turn off your PS3. Enter Safe Mode by holding down the power button until you hear three beeps. Select "Restore PS3 System." This will perform a factory reset. NOTE: You may want to back up your PS3 on an external memory before performing this last step, since this option will delete all data on the device to revert it to it's factory settings.
Took about a week. Or two. But it didn't cost me a dime and there's no risk or opening of the ps3 involved. Just to clarify, the fan trick will eject the disc in the hard drive so if it gets stuck do the fan trick. After doin it for a week or two every time my disc was stuck, one day the eject button started working again. Might work for you

Step 1 Top Cover. Flip the PlayStation 2 over so it lays with the bottom of the device facing upwards. Use the flat edge of a metal spudger to pry the eight flat screw covers out. Remove the following eight screws securing the top cover to the bottom case: Four 55.4 mm Philips screws. Four 18.0 mm Phillips screws.
